Mark Flowers
Vice President, Retail Growth
Mark Flowers was named vice president of retail growth in 2007. In this role, Flowers leads True Value's Retail Growth Department, responsible for executing the cooperative's national growth strategy. He and his team focus on growing True Value members' retail square footage through opening new stores, adding branch locations and expanding existing stores. Flowers' team also assists members with the implementation of Destination True Value—the co-op's new retail format—and related store remodels.
Prior to joining True Value Company in 2007, Flowers spent more than 20 years at Sears, rising to the position of vice president of Sears Appliance and Hardware Stores. In that position, he served as general manager of the 150- store chain and was responsible for design and implementation of the merchandising and operational vision for the business.
Flowers served as district general manager for Sears in the Baltimore and northern New Jersey regions from 2002 to 2005. As district general manager, he managed the overall performance of full-line retail outlets and the implementation of national programs. Flowers previously spent one year as Sears' region operations manager, supporting the regional vice president in directing store operations, including expense and facilities management, human resources processes and overall financial performance.
Prior to this, Flowers held various roles at Sears, including region merchant for hardlines, district merchant for home improvement, region manager for licensed business and store general manager.
Flowers earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management from Pennsylvania State University in Middletown, Pa.
